The Former Site of the Commodity Trading Office in the Soviet Area is located at No. 15 Shengli First Street, Shan Cheng Town, Taining County.

In August 1933, to restore and promote economic development in the Soviet Area, the Taining County Soviet Government widely mobilized the masses to revive and develop production, and to invigorate industrial and commercial trade in the Soviet Area. It established the Commodity Trading Office in the Soviet Area, which was responsible for facilitating commodity trade between the Soviet Area and the White Area. By exchanging grain and establishing salt dealers' federations, the office procured scarce supplies such as salt, cloth, medicine, matches, and kerosene from the White Area. Priority was given to supplying the Red Army troops, government agencies, and families of martyrs and soldiers, while also meeting the daily consumption needs of the people in the Soviet Area. The general public could purchase much-needed imported daily necessities.

The Former Site of the Commodity Trading Office in the Soviet Area is the residence of villagers in Shengyi Village, Shan Cheng Town. It is a brick-and-wood structure built in the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty.
