On September 15, the 2014 China Danxia (Taining) International Mountain Outdoor Sports Challenge kicked off in Taining, Fujian. The three-day event features two categories—men’s pairs and mixed gender teams—covering a total distance of 171 kilometers. It attracted 45 domestic and international teams, with 11 competition events including roller skating, cross-country running, kayaking, mountain biking, river crossing, zip-lining, and building descent. On the first day of the race, Urs Hefti and his partner from the Red Bull team finished fourth in the mixed category with a time of 3 hours, 58 minutes and 4 seconds, while the Original Adventure team temporarily ranked first. Ye Ersen and Hu Wanzhe from Red Bull Team Two achieved a time of 4 hours, 7 minutes and 23 seconds, securing the top spot in the domestic men’s pairs category.

On the second day of the race, September 16, the competition included five events: bridge descent, kayaking, mountain biking, river crossing, and cross-country running, covering a total distance of 55 kilometers. Among these, the nearly 20-kilometer kayaking segment will be a key factor determining overall performance and is also an area where the Red Bull team holds an advantage.
