Former Site of the Central Soviet Area Bank

The former site of the Central Soviet Area Bank is a classic red tourism attraction.

The former site of the Central Soviet Area Bank is located at No. 12, Shengli First Street, Shan Town, Taining County.

After the establishment of the Central Soviet Area, in order to stabilize the financial order, promote local economic development, and break the economic blockade imposed by the Kuomintang authorities, Taining County established the Central Soviet Area Bank. It handled the issuance of Soviet-area currency, exchanged gold and silver items, issued "construction bonds," and provided low-interest loans. In May 1933, the people of Taining launched a "charge forward" competition to raise funds for the war, actively purchasing construction bonds and proposing to donate both the principal and interest to the Soviet government. During the campaign to sell 300,000 yuan worth of bonds across the Fujian-Jiangxi Provincial area, through extensive mobilization by party, government, and Soviet bank officials, the county completed over 1,000 yuan in bond issuance between October and November 1933. From December of the same year to April of the following year, an additional target of 2,000 yuan was assigned, but over 3,000 yuan was issued, exceeding the target by more than 1,000 yuan. The establishment of the Central Soviet Area Bank played a significant role in ensuring the supply for revolutionary warfare and covering the expenses of the Soviet government. It also made a positive contribution to breaking the Kuomintang's economic blockade and revitalizing the Soviet market.

The former site of the Central Soviet Area Bank, known as Bie Jia Di, faces east and is a two-courtyard building. It consists of a front courtyard, inner surrounding wall and inner gate, second gate courtyard, central courtyard, lower hall, rear courtyard, rear hall, rear building (now demolished), and auxiliary rooms. The total width is 25 meters, with a depth of 39.8 meters, and a construction area of 995 square meters. It is currently well preserved.
