The Site of the Red Restaurant in Taining, Central Soviet Area, is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Site of the Red Restaurant in Taining, Central Soviet Area, is located at the former site of the Xinhua Bookstore on the middle section of Heping Street, Shan Cheng Town, Taining County.

The Soviet government made great efforts to develop commerce and trade in the Soviet area and encouraged the revitalization of commodity circulation. The thriving market economy led to the development of the lodging and food service industries. As a result, the Trade Office of the Taining County Soviet Government set up the Red Restaurant in the county town to accommodate passing Red Army soldiers, wounded soldiers, and the families of Red Army members. At the same time, it helped invigorate the Soviet market, met the daily consumer needs of the local people, and also contributed to the flourishing business of the food and service industry in the Soviet area.

The original building of the Site of the Red Restaurant in Taining, Central Soviet Area, was a two-story brick-and-tile structure. After 1960, due to urban development needs, Heping Street was widened to 12.5 meters, and all buildings along the old street were demolished and rebuilt. As a result, the Taining Red Restaurant was demolished and not preserved.
