Former Site of the Dayuan Township Revolutionary Committee and the Red 13th Division Headquarters

The Former Site of the Dayuan Township Revolutionary Committee and the Red 13th Division Headquarters is a classic red tourism attraction.

The Dai Family Official Hall at the Former Site of the Dayuan Township Revolutionary Committee and the Red 13th Division Headquarters is located in Xiadayuan Natural Village, Dayuan Administrative Village, Taining County.

The Dai Family Official Hall is a civilian residence built by the Dai family villagers along the ancient post road, specifically used to host passing guests. In June 1931, when the Red Army first liberated Taining, the village of Dayuan established a red political power—the Township Revolutionary Committee—with its office set up in the Dai Family Official Hall. The committee was chaired by Yan Guangzi, with Lin Weilu as the finance commissioner and Dai Chongjie as the food supply commissioner. At the same time, mass organizations and local armed forces were also established, including the Peasant Association, Poor Peasants Group, Red Guards, Communist Youth League, and Children’s Group, with Yan Liangshou serving as the leader of the guerrilla team. With the assistance of the Red Army Work Team, the Dayuan Township Revolutionary Committee actively carried out activities such as combating landlords, redistributing land, abolishing contracts, and raising funds and grain. In October 1933, the Dayuan Township Soviet Government was established. That year, in this small mountain village of only a few hundred people, dozens of young people enthusiastically signed up to join the Red Army.

In March 1934, the Red 5th Army Corps established the headquarters of the 13th Division here, with Chen Bojun serving as division commander. The 38th Regiment of the Red 13th Division was stationed in Dayuan Village, and its battlefield command post was set up in the Dai Family Official Hall. The 38th Regiment of the Red 13th Division was the vanguard unit in the Battle of Xinqiao Counteroffensive, where it made great sacrifices during this brutal battle.

The Dai Family Official Hall is a building from the Ming and Qing dynasties, featuring a three-courtyard brick-and-wood structure that remains well-preserved to this day.
