Shangjie Village

Shangjie is located in the southeastern part of Gongqiao, bordering Yongfu Daban and Xinluo Yanshan.

Up close, the ancient dwellings are laid out in an orderly fashion, with lotus ponds in front of and behind the houses. The lotuses, rising unstained from the mud and glowing red under the sun, sway gently in the breeze, displaying their graceful charm and captivating all who see them. In the distance, emerald-green mountains and waters embrace the area, with layers of verdant peaks and ancient trees set off by bamboo groves, all accompanied by the fragrance of fruits and melons. The scenery is so delightful that one can easily lose track of time and forget to leave.

The village is surrounded by dark green mountains, with a straight road cutting across in front of it. Beside the road, a clear stream babbles gently. Most of the buildings in the village are traditional-style small courtyards. Lotus flowers are planted around the ponds, fields, and courtyards.

In recent years, Gongqiao Town has adhered to green development, continuously adjusted and optimized its agricultural structure, focused on developing efficient ecological agriculture, and gradually formed a distinctive agricultural sector with lotus seeds as the leading industry. Gongqiao lotus seeds are natural and environmentally friendly "green food." Leveraging its ecological advantages, Gongqiao Town has vigorously promoted "ecotourism," successfully hosting the "Lotus Festival" for two consecutive years. These events attracted tourists from Sanming, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Fuzhou, and other areas, generating over 10 million yuan in lotus seed product sales, drawing more than 100,000 visitors, and achieving tourism revenue of over 10 million yuan.

The Jiaoshan Lotus Seed Professional Cooperative has seized the opportunity presented by ecotourism. By adopting unified seedling supply, unified management, and unified sales, the cooperative has rapidly expanded the lotus seed industry. It has also registered the “Fushangjie” lotus seed brand, further broadening sales channels. The cooperative actively explores various ways to consume lotus seeds—such as eating them raw, steaming lotus pods, making lotus juice, lotus soup, and lotus porridge—to guide consumer interest and effectively integrate the agricultural industry with tourism.
