Zhangping Nanyang National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Zhangping Nanyang National Wetland Park enjoys a superior geographical location, abundant biodiversity, varied wetland types, classic wetland features, and significant ecological and cultural value. As a vital site for rehabilitating degraded riparian wetlands in the hilly regions of southern China, showcasing a typical river-based composite ecosystem in southwestern Fujian, and serving as a demonstration zone for the protection of water resources and wetland biodiversity in the upper reaches of the Jiulong River Basin, the park not only focuses on the conservation and restoration of wetland resources but also highlights Zhangping’s rich Narcissus tea culture, revolutionary heritage, and the “Three Countryside Cultures” — Flower Village, Painting Village, and Tea Village. The establishment of the wetland park plays an important role in promoting wetland education, advancing ecological civilization and the development of beautiful rural areas, and boosting local economic and social progress.

Zhangping Nanyang National Wetland Park is located within Nanyang Town, Zhangping City, covering five administrative villages: Wuxi, Nanyang, Litian, Dangkou, and Nuanzhou. The park extends from the southern boundary of the Jiupengxi Scenic Area in Tiantai National Forest Park in the north, to Nuanzhou Bridge and the downstream riverbanks in the south, and spans both banks of the Shuangyang River from east to west. Its geographic coordinates are between 24°12′N to 25°44′N latitude and 116°50′E to 118°02′E longitude. The total area of the park is 317.28 hectares, including 112.91 hectares of wetland.
