The Gushanzhong Scenic Area in Changtai, Fujian is a hidden treasure. This beautiful ancient village, embraced by mountains and surrounded by babbling streams under blue skies and white clouds, boasts an 800-year history. It is located in Changtai County, just one mountain away from Guankou Town in Xiamen, at the foot of Xianlinqi Mountain and Dingdingwei Mountain, both nearly 1,000 meters above sea level. Owing to its secluded mountain setting, the area retains an unspoiled and simple folk culture. Throughout the village and its surroundings, peach, pear, plum, and rapeseed blossoms are abundant... Nearly a thousand acres of lush farmland yield corn, cabbage, rapeseed, peas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggplants, cauliflower, and rice... The long and tranquil waterways of Shuiyunjian are shrouded in light mist, with ancient camphor and banyan trees scattered along both banks, offering visitors a transcendent feeling amidst the landscape.

The labyrinthine ancient residences of Gushanzhong, built with astonishing cobblestones, showcase over 1,300 years of historical imprints. Walking through them feels like listening to music that has traveled through time, arranged in a scattered yet harmonious layout. Built during the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty, the Zhaoling Palace enshrines Baosheng Dadi (Imperial Lord Wu), encapsulating the cultural essence of Gushanzhong. Its architectural artistry is diverse and richly varied.

The seven-story ancient stone Buddhist pagoda, standing firmly through 800 years of wind and rain, is a rare ancient architectural relic of southern Fujian Buddhism. Century-old traditional houses are tucked along winding village stone paths, while a thousand-year-old camphor tree stands like the village guardian at the entrance. Chickens and ducks stroll leisurely, dogs relax, butterflies and orioles flutter about, and the scent of cooking smoke fills the air — nature's essence is everywhere.
