Beichen Park

Beichen Park was built in 2003, covering an area of 76,500 square meters. It was constructed on the site of the relocated old Beicang Village and funded by the district government. The park includes a plaza that can be used for public gatherings and recreational activities during holidays. It also features fitness equipment for adults and play structures for children. The park boasts a wide variety of plants, including precious species such as ginkgo and papaya, ensuring flowers bloom in three seasons and evergreen foliage all year round.

A massive stone is placed right at the entrance of Beichen Park. Measuring 460 cm in length, 153 cm in width, and 125 cm in thickness, it weighs approximately 17 tons. The stone originates from Jixian County and is a stromatolite from the Mesoproterozoic to Neoproterozoic era, over 1.3 billion years old. It was formed from the deposits of algae, mud, and shells, making it one of the world’s rare rocks and a nationally protected cultural relic. After polishing, the stone surface is incredibly smooth and delicate, feeling like touching a baby’s skin. Its colors are vibrant, with clear patterns resembling shells and algae. The hard texture showcases the geological changes of the Mesoproterozoic to Neoproterozoic strata. This stone has become the park’s treasured centerpiece. On its sunlit side is engraved the inscription “Beichen Park” by Wang Chao, with bold and powerful calligraphy exuding grandeur.
