Sino-French Joint Venture Dynasty Winery Co., Ltd. was established in 1980 as the first Sino-foreign joint venture in China’s manufacturing industry. The Dynasty Royal Winery Castle is a microcosm of the development of Dynasty Wines, showcasing the remarkable achievements in the wine industry.

The Dynasty Royal Winery Castle is the largest single winery structure in Asia, built with an investment of 200 million yuan over three years by Dynasty Wines. It is located within the Dynasty Industrial Park, a national-level industrial tourism demonstration site, and was completed and put into use in 2010. Covering an area of over 260 acres, the castle has a construction area of more than 10,000 square meters and nearly 70,000 square meters of landscaped gardens. Its design draws inspiration from 19th-century castle architecture in France’s Bordeaux region, with conceptual influence from the Louvre in France, while incorporating Chinese aesthetic elements. It reflects Dynasty Wines’ vision of blending global wine culture with Chinese heritage—elegant, refined, luxurious, and romantic, embodying the company’s Sino-French fusion identity.

The Dynasty Royal Winery Castle features an underground level and three floors above ground. From the pyramid-shaped structure in the plaza, you can directly access the underground level, which houses the Dynasty Wine Culture Museum. The museum uses custom-made production equipment to demonstrate the wine-making process, and presents the long history of wine through physical artifacts, photographs, texts, videos, and other media from various eras—showcasing ancient and modern winemaking techniques, the rich diversity of wine culture, and renowned wine-producing regions and products around the world. The castle also houses collections such as a Margaux bronze plate, a Louis XIII Black Pearl, and a chair once belonging to Empress Josephine. Among the exhibits is China’s first fully fermented grape wine, honorably produced by Dynasty in 1980, which filled the gap of truly domestic Chinese wine production and marked a new era for Chinese wine. It won the Brussels International Wine Competition Gold Award for five consecutive years and was thus honored with China’s first and only “International Highest Quality Award” in the wine industry.

The underground level leads directly to the main structure of the winery castle. In addition to four exclusive exhibition halls named after internationally renowned wine companies, the main building also offers a range of service facilities including meeting rooms, dining areas, and guest rooms. Within the castle, visitors can not only see the world’s top wine enterprises but also experience the profound cultural ambiance created by the castle, providing a dual enjoyment for the senses and the spirit.

In 2013, it was designated as a Tianjin Municipal Patriotic Education Base by the municipal Party committee and government.
