Bozhou Fishing Terrace

The Fishing Terrace is located in Fishing Terrace Village, southeast of Qiaocheng District, Bozhou City. The site sits on the north bank of the Guo River, about 2.5 meters above the surrounding area, covering an area of 2,500 square meters. It is an ancient settlement site, designated as a key cultural relics protection unit of the province by the Anhui Provincial People's Government in September 1981. In 1955, the preparatory office of the Anhui Provincial Museum conducted a small-scale trial excavation at the Fishing Terrace site. Through the excavation and collection, artifacts such as stone axes, stone knives, stone adzes, bone needles, pottery li tripods, and pottery spinning wheels were obtained. The Fishing Terrace site has rich cultural significance, especially the carbonized wheat stored in pottery li tripods, which is extremely precious. It has been named "Ancient Chinese Wheat" by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and related institutions. The Fishing Terrace site dates back to the Dawenkou Culture period.
