Tang Wu Fang Wei

Tang Wu Fang Wei is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Tang Wu Fang Wei is located on the banks of the Fengle River, southwest of Daqian Mountain in Feixi County.

Tang Wu Fang Wei was the former residence of the renowned Huai Army generals Tang Diankui and Tang Dingkui. Constructed during the Guangxu era, it was later burned down and rebuilt in the first year of the Xuantong reign. The estate is surrounded by moats on three sides, covering an area of over 20,000 square meters, and originally had more than 200 rooms. Today, only one revolving building remains, and the site now houses YuanDian Middle School. The revolving building is located in the central part of Tang Wu Fang Wei, covering an area of 552 square meters. It is a two-story, quadrangle-style building that is exquisitely elegant. Built in the second year of the Xuantong reign, it has a total of 32 rooms on both floors. The east gate features a stone plaque inscribed with the words: "Purple Air Comes from the East." Tang Diankui, courtesy name Junhou, was the fourth son of his family. During the Xianfeng era, he and his younger brother Dingkui organized local militia in their hometown. In the first year of the Tongzhi reign, he joined the Ming Battalion of the Huai Army, rose to the rank of general, and later died in battle at the Battle of Yinlong River in Hubei. His younger brother Tang Dingkui succeeded him in leading the troops, was promoted to titular governor-general, and made meritorious contributions in resisting the Japanese in Taiwan in the 13th year of the Tongzhi reign, after which he was officially appointed Governor-General of the Fujian Land Forces. He passed away from illness in the 13th year of the Guangxu reign.
