The Former Residence of Wu Zhongxing is a cultural tourism attraction.

　The Former Residence of Wu Zhongxing is located on the east street of the historic Changlinhe Ancient Town. It was the ancestral home of Professor Wu Zhongxing, a renowned cartographer. The residence faces south and sits along the northern side of the street. It consists of four and a half main rooms facing the road, with two wing rooms behind the main structure. Between the wing rooms lies a small courtyard, and the entire building is constructed with brick, wood, and blue-gray tiles, featuring the architectural characteristics of ancient residences in central Anhui. The building covers an area of 177 square meters. In the backyard, there is a well and a mulberry tree, symbolizing the meaning of “a child of one’s native place.” The residence is now a cultural relic protection unit of Feidong County and serves as an important site for educating the public about revolutionary traditions.

Professor Wu Zhongxing was a famous cartography educator in China. He not only trained a large number of highly skilled professionals in surveying and mapping for the country, but also pioneered new research areas in the discipline of map projection in China, making significant contributions to the development of China's surveying, mapping, and charting endeavors. He is widely recognized as an eminent surveying and mapping expert and a founding figure in China’s map projection field. Changlinhe Town: Changlinhe Town originated during the Chiwu era of the Three Kingdoms period and is a town with a long history. According to research, water from the northern foothills of Qingyang Mountain flowed continuously into Chaohu Lake via the Changning Temple, eventually forming the Changning River over time.
