Floating Mountain

Floating Mountain, commonly known as "Floating Nest Mountain," is located 20 kilometers east of Dianbu Town in Feidong County. The mountain features steep ridges, rugged peaks, and lush, elegant pine trees, creating a majestic and breathtaking landscape. The main peak once housed the Sweet Dew Temple. To the south of the temple was the Dragon King Hall. In front of the temple were two spring pools connected by a three-foot-long earthen ridge. The northern pool is a clear spring with pristine, delicious water, belonging to Feidong County; the southern pool is a murky spring with cloudy water, belonging to Chaohu City. Both springs are less than a foot deep but never dry up during prolonged droughts nor overflow during heavy rains. The Song Dynasty scholar Ouyang Xiu wrote "Record of the Scenic Waters of Floating Shoal Mountain," praising the extraordinary beauty of these springs.
