Longcheng Ruins

The Longcheng Ruins are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Anhui Province.

The Longcheng Ruins are located in Longcheng Village, Longcheng Township, Feidong County. They are a settlement site from the Shang and Zhou dynasties in the Jianghuai region, as well as the site of Jun Dao County during the Qin and Han dynasties. There are 3–4-meter-high earthen mounds on the east, west, and north sides of the ruins, where rammed earth layers have been identified through surveys, formed after the collapse of the ancient city walls. The southern side still retains recognizable remnants of the old city wall. The city wall was 600 meters long and 420 meters wide. Within the old city site, there are broken bricks, pottery shards, and ceramic fragments from the Han Dynasty, as well as artifacts characteristic of the Shang and Zhou periods. Outside the old city site, several nearby villages contain ancient tomb clusters, where stone-chambered and brick-chambered tombs dating from the Han Dynasty to the Northern and Southern Dynasties have been discovered. It is a provincially designated key cultural heritage protection unit.
