In the winter of 1929, in order to maintain contact between the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the E-Yu-Wan Revolutionary Base, the Central Committee secretly established the Central to E-Yu-Wan Transportation Hub at a grocery store at the northern end of Dianbu in Feidong. The hub was under the administration of the Central Communications Bureau. It had four sub-stations: Zhengyangguan, Shucheng, Qianshan, and Lu’an, among which the head of the Lu’an sub-station was concurrently held by Chen Liangji. This hub was responsible for gathering military, political, and economic intelligence for the Central Committee and the E-Yu-Wan Revolutionary Base; it also facilitated the transit of comrades and transportation of supplies to support the revolutionary struggle in the base areas. Later, due to betrayal, the leaders of the hub were arrested, and its operations ceased.
