Guanshan Ridge Ancient Trail

Guanshan Ridge Ancient Trail is a cultural heritage protection unit of Chizhou City.

Guanshan Ridge Ancient Trail is located in Dongcun Village, Yaodu Town, Dongzhi County. Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, it is classified as an ancient heritage site.

On March 4, 2020, the Chizhou Municipal People's Government designated it as part of the fifth batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units in Chizhou.

Protected area: Extending 2 meters outward from both sides of the existing ancient trail (East endpoint GPS: N30°02’54”, E117°0’45”), with the ridge top defined as a circle with a 4-meter radius centered on the stone pavilion.

Construction control zone: The ancient trail’s protected area extends an additional 2 meters outward, while the ridge top’s protected area extends an additional 1 meter outward.

Yaodu Town: Yaodu Town is the county seat of Dongzhi County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province, serving as the economic, political, cultural, educational, and transportation hub of Dongzhi County. Legend has it that Emperor Shun once farmed here, and when Emperor Yao heard of his virtue, he traveled a thousand li across the river to seek his counsel, hence the name Yaodu (Yao’s Crossing). The town covers a total area of 235.9 square kilometers, governs 14 villages, 7 communities, and 2 neighborhood committees, with a total population of over 86,000, including more than 53,000 permanent residents.
