Chizhou Wanluo Mountain

Chizhou Wanluo Mountain is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Introduction: Wanluo Mountain is situated 10 kilometers south of Chizhou City, standing at an altitude of 163 meters. It features stunning natural landscapes and peculiar rocks, most notably the impressive Tongtianmen, Luoren Stone, and Boat-shaped Stone. The mountain paths are gently inclined and paved with stone slabs. The area is covered with verdant bamboo groves, among which grow sturdy pines, cypresses, spruces, and locust trees, painting the entire mountain in vibrant green hues. The mountain trails are adorned with cliff inscriptions and stelae. At the foot of the mountain lies the Zhenzhu Temple, originally built during the Tang Dynasty. The temple enshrines a jade-carved Guanyin statue. In front of the temple is the Dimie Pool (said to be where Li Bai washed his brushes), the Gate Well, and the Oil-and-Salt Rock—ancient relics steeped in history. By the perennially unfrozen Liberation Pond stand two towering red maples, about four or five zhang high (approximately 13–16 meters) with trunks thick enough to be embraced. Behind the temple grows a osmanthus tree over 500 years old. In the spring of 1984, a rare and highly ornamental variety of bamboo—the Arhat Bamboo—sprouted in the bamboo grove behind the temple, adding a touch of elegance for visitors.
