Introduction   The Guichi Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park is located at Gutang Lake in Juanqiao Town, five kilometers west of Chizhou City. It lies to the north of the Qiu River and to the south of National Highway 318, with a total planned area of 2,600 mu. Established in 1998, the park features flat terrain, fertile soil, and clean water. Over the past five years, a total investment of 16.4 million yuan has been made to build six specialized sub-parks: special aquatic breeding, greenhouse vegetable cultivation, greenhouse seedling cultivation, crop variety trials, livestock breeding, and forestry focused on fruit trees. The greenhouse vegetable sub-park includes four three-span steel-framed greenhouses and 174 magnesium-aluminum greenhouses arranged neatly. The seedling greenhouses are equipped with electric skylights, sunshade and thermal curtains, multifunctional films, insect-proof nets, forced ventilation, CO2 fertilization, supplemental lighting, and sprinkler and drip irrigation systems. The park operates an integrated system of vegetable and flower seedling cultivation, production, and sales, yielding 385,000 kilograms of pollution-free vegetables and fruits annually. The Guichi Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park won third prize in the provincial agricultural science and technology demonstration park competition and was named a “Provincial Vegetable Basket Project Demonstration Park.” In 2001, the park’s management system was reformed, leading to the establishment of the “Guichi High-Tech Agricultural Development Company.” Comprehensive management systems were put in place, standardized operations were implemented, and an ecological production model was planned: a well-integrated system of three-dimensional cropping, livestock farming, and aquaculture. This has created a balanced environment with neat fields, orderly rows of trees, interconnected roads, linked channels, and a forest network covering 21% of the area.

Juanqiao Town: Juanqiao Town is located in the western suburbs of Chizhou City, 15 kilometers from the city center. It got its name from an ancient folk song: “An old stone bridge over the Juan River stands firm despite wind and rain.” National Highway 318 runs east-west through the town for 15 kilometers, while the Qingxi River and Qiu River flow along the eastern and western sides respectively, passing through eight villages over a distance of 28 kilometers. The under-construction Yangtze River Expressway and Tongling–Jiujiang Railway both cross through the town, making transportation convenient and resources abundant.
