Jiuhua Rafting

Jiuhua Rafting is located in Chizhou City, our province, 18 kilometers from the Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area. The Hefei–Tongling–Huangshan Expressway and the Yangtze River Expressway run through the area. The rafting course spans 8 kilometers and takes about two hours. The starting point of the rafting, Yaojie Village, is the hometown of a veteran revolutionary leader of our country who once served as Vice Premier of the State Council.

The calm, mirror-like lake at the starting point is called Xialake. An ancient poem by the great poet Li Bai, “Lodging at Xialake”: “Cocks crow as we leave Huangshan, at dusk we arrive to stay at Xialake. White rain mirrors the cold mountains, densely like silver bamboo…” describes precisely this place. A mountain range gives birth to a winding river, and a winding river fosters a unique culture. The “Nuoxi Opera,” known as the living fossil of Chinese opera, originated here. The “Yao Family Ancestral Hall,” which records the genealogy of the Yao family, has long been a venue for local villagers to perform Nuoxi rituals and operas.

Jiuhua Rafting is an emerging summer retreat that combines bamboo raft drifting and inflatable raft surfing. As visitors glide along the course, they are surrounded by beautiful scenery, with rolling mountains and trees stretching overhead. The journey offers moments of tranquil calm, where one can drift freely and peacefully, as well as sections of rushing waterfalls and turbulent rapids that bring thrilling waves. Here, one can’t help but be filled with the wonderful illusion of “sailing on clear waves, as if wandering in a painting.” It’s truly an exhilarating ride full of thrills yet completely safe; a picturesque journey with breathtaking views that refresh the mind and lift the spirit; and a fun-filled water battle experience that brings endless laughter and joy.
