The Apricot Blossom Village Ancient Well Cultural Park is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The universally cherished Tang Dynasty poem "Qingming" by the late-Tang poet Du Mu sings the praises of the world-renowned Apricot Blossom Village. Named after the poem, this cultural heritage site seamlessly blends human and natural landscapes, making it the most distinctive historical and cultural village in Chizhou, Anhui. The Ancient Well Cultural Park is located in Apricot Blossom Village to the west of Chizhou City, built upon the site of ancient wells in the village. The park covers an area of approximately 13,520 square meters, with main attractions including the Huanggong Well Courtyard, the Brewing Workshop, the Apricot Blossom Pavilion, the Village Chronicles Museum, and the Huan Garden. The park features a simple and elegant style, with widespread plantings of flowers and groves of apricot trees, crisscrossing streams, and well-spaced Tang-style architecture. There are also cultural performances on the ancient stage, making it an ideal place for modern visitors to reflect on history, relax, and enjoy leisure activities. In ancient times, the park area housed taverns that produced famous liquor. Stretching from Qishan Lake in the south to Bodin Mountain in the north, from the West Gate Drawbridge in the east to the banks of the Qiupu River in the west, the area was blanketed in apricot blossom rain across ten li. In the past, Apricot Blossom Village boasted hundreds of acres of blooming apricot trees, their blossoms as lush as clouds. The village also had the Huanggong Tavern, a secluded and elegant spot filled with the rich aroma of liquor. “A drizzling rain falls like tears on the Mourning Day; The mourner’s heart is going to break on his way. Where can a wineshop be found to drown his sad hours? A cowherd points to a cot ’mid apricot flowers.” This timeless verse originated right here, and since then, Apricot Blossom Village has become a famous historical locale. The fame of Apricot Blossom Village Liquor has endured through the ages. The ancient well still remains, with crystal-clear water famously known as “fragrant spring-like wine that never runs dry.” Today, “Apricot Blossom Village Liquor” remains a popular market brand.
