Baiya Mountain Pagoda in Guichi is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Baiya Mountain Pagoda is located on Baiya Mountain in the northern part of Guichi, and takes its name from the mountain. It was built in the 17th year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty (1538) by Lu Gang, the prefect of Chizhou, as a feng shui pagoda. According to the Guangxu-era "Guichi County Annals," the Baiya Mountain Pagoda was constructed to “remedy the deficiencies of the local geography by supplementing what is lacking and elevating what is low,” and to “greatly enhance the feng shui of Chizhou.” The seven-story brick pagoda is pavilion-style, standing 34.4 meters tall with a diameter of 6.68 meters. The ground floor features a low platform base, with circular engaged columns at the corners and pier bases in a T-shape. Each level has a balcony and Buddha niches. A brick staircase winds upward through the inner wall, and the central core of the pagoda culminates in a domed top. The seventh floor holds a thousand-pound wooden beam supporting the spire pole, with a bronze gourd-shaped finial at the very top. The pagoda’s exterior shows a clear tapering from bottom to top, with a sleek and robust contour that gives an impression of delicate elegance.

On October 7, 2019, Baiya Mountain Pagoda was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Protected area: within 10 meters around the pagoda.

Construction control zone: outside the protected area, extending east to Donghu Road, south to Baiya Road, west to the east courtyard wall of the municipal government building, and north to the northern foot of Baiya Mountain.
