The Xin'an River Waterfront Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Xin'an River Waterfront Scenic Area is one of the "Ten Major Projects" in Huangshan City's accelerated development of a modern international tourism city. It has been listed as a key project under the development-oriented financial cooperation between the Agricultural Development Bank of China and the Huangshan Municipal Government, with a total investment of 1.385 billion yuan.

The urban section of the Xin'an River project, from the Sightseeing Cable Bridge to the Lakeside Section, consists of ten major nodes: "Forest Corridor & Clear Shadows," "Tunpu Returning Sails," "Tunxi Wharf," "Dam Site Plaza," "Lakeside Village," "Screen Wall Nostalgia," "Wetland Boardwalk," "Cliff Stone Carvings," "Huizhou Style Water Street," and "Mountain Pavilion View." These nodes are closely connected to the historical resources and traditional Huizhou culture along both banks of the Xin'an River, offering boundless space for imagination and showcasing a rich Huizhou cultural heritage. Together, they form a beautiful scenic highlight along the Xin'an River landscape gallery.

The extended section of the Xin'an River, also known as the Xin'an River Comprehensive Development or Lakeside Water Conservancy Project, aims to develop a water tourism route on the Xin'an River, restore its navigability, enhance the city’s flood control capacity, increase leisure spaces for residents, and elevate the city’s cultural appeal. Based on the Ten Scenic Spots of Xin'an, it paints a magnificent picture of the Xin'an River landscape, adding a layer of profound humanistic color to its already stunning natural scenery.
