The Anhui China Huizhou Culture Museum is a patriotic education base.

The Anhui China Huizhou Culture Museum is located at No. 50, Airport Yingbin Avenue, Tunxi District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. It evolved from the Huangshan City Museum, and its new building was officially opened on January 8, 2008, with free admission available throughout that same year. As the second-largest comprehensive museum in Anhui Province, it is the only museum in China that fully showcases the theme of Huizhou culture, a national first-class museum, and receives over 500,000 domestic and international visitors annually.

As of 2015, the Anhui China Huizhou Culture Museum housed nearly 100,000 pieces (or volumes) of cultural relics, including ceramics, inkstones, Huizhou ink, calligraphy and paintings, Huizhou "Three Carvings", bronze ware, jade artifacts, miscellaneous items, ancient books, and Huizhou documents. Among these, there were nearly 50,000 ancient books and around 30,000 contract documents. The museum’s featured collections include She inkstones, Huizhou ink, Xin’an paintings and calligraphy, and Huizhou literature. Notably, the “Wenfu Ink” unearthed from a Song Dynasty tomb is the earliest Huizhou ink discovered in China.

The Anhui China Huizhou Culture Museum covers an area of 157 mu, with a building area of 14,000 square meters. The exhibition space spans 6,000 square meters, the storage area 2,000 square meters, the industrial park 3,000 square meters, and the auxiliary functional area 3,000 square meters. The building's exterior features a three-story palace-style structure with a reinforced concrete frame integrated with Huizhou architectural style. It consists of exhibition areas, collection areas, cultural industry zones, and office spaces. The museum’s permanent exhibition, titled “Huizhou People and Huizhou Culture,” is divided into six sections: Entering Huizhou, Merchants of the World, Ritualistic Huizhou, Huizhou Architecture, Huizhou Art, and Huizhou Science and Technology. Its content includes: the Scenic Beauty of Xin’an, Huizhou and its People, Huizhou Merchants of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Huizhou Women, The Eastern Zou and Lu, the Hometown of Cheng and Zhu, Huizhou Lineage, Xin’an Medicine, Stars of Science, Treasures of the Study, the Xin’an Painting School, Huizhou Woodblock Prints, Huizhou Seal Carving, Huizhou Villages, Huizhou Residential Architecture, and the Huizhou “Three Carvings”. It is a fully equipped modern museum.

The Anhui China Huizhou Culture Museum is the second-largest comprehensive museum in Anhui Province and the only museum in China that comprehensively presents the theme of Huizhou culture. The architectural design is guided by the philosophy of harmony between man and nature, with Huizhou culture as its core content, the Huizhou landscape as its backdrop, and traditional Huizhou architectural style as its foundation. It forms a multifunctional complex along with a Huizhou-style landscape garden. The site offers expansive grounds, gently rolling Longshan hills surrounding the area, and a well-balanced layout of varying elevations. Lush greenery and beautiful surroundings are enhanced by scenic water features, creating a harmonious blend of human and natural landscapes.

The Anhui China Huizhou Culture Museum boasts an extremely rich collection. As of 2015, it housed nearly 100,000 pieces (or volumes) of cultural relics, including ceramics, inkstones, Huizhou ink, calligraphy and paintings, Huizhou “Three Carvings”, bronze ware, jade artifacts, miscellaneous items, ancient books, and Huizhou documents. Among them, there are 34 first-grade relics, 144 second-grade relics, and 3,913 third-grade relics, along with nearly 50,000 ancient books and approximately 30,000 contract documents. The museum’s featured collections include She inkstones, Huizhou ink, Xin’an paintings and calligraphy, and Huizhou literature. Notably, the “Wenfu Ink” unearthed from a Song Dynasty tomb is the earliest Huizhou ink discovered in China. The Huizhou documents in the collection serve as vital materials for studying Huizhou Studies, an internationally recognized prominent academic field, attracting attention from Huizhou experts worldwide.

The Anhui China Huizhou Culture Museum is among the second batch of National Key Ancient Book Preservation Units, a Youth Rights Protection Post in Anhui Province, as well as a patriotic education base at both the provincial and municipal levels.
