Huangshan Cultural and Creative Town

Huangshan Cultural and Creative Town is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Huangshan Cultural and Creative Town is located in the western part of Huangshan City’s central urban area — within the Anhui Huangshan Modern Service Industry Industrial Park, which is the startup zone of the park. It is one of the key supported projects for Huangshan City to promote the integrated development of modern service industries in tourism, culture, and ecology. It is an important carrier for the city's construction of the Southern Anhui International Cultural Tourism Demonstration Zone, and a hub for cultural tourism in Huangshan.

The town is a five-minute drive from Tunxi International Airport, a ten-minute drive from Exit 2 of the Huizhou-Hangzhou Expressway, and a fifteen-minute drive from Huangshan North High-Speed Railway Station. Covering an area of approximately 2 square kilometers, it is developed and operated by the Huangshan Cultural Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd. according to the principles of “government leadership, high-quality planning, market operation, regional characteristics, and unified development.” The town is committed to establishing itself as a distinctive cultural and creative hub centered around the cultural and creative industry, gathering various cultural tourism sectors such as intangible cultural heritage displays, museum experiences, sports and leisure, smart tourism, and health and wellness.

The town currently hosts nearly 70 resident enterprises and incubates over 110 enterprises outside the core zone. It clusters industries such as cultural creativity, education and training, big data and cloud computing, software development, tourism+, and e-commerce. The town is also a gathering place for cultural centers in the city, currently home to a range of cultural tourism projects including the China Huizhou Culture Museum, Huangshan City Cultural and Art Center, Urban Exhibition Hall, Huizhou Pastry Museum, Huizhou Cuisine Museum, Huizhou Three-Carving Museum, Qihong Tea Museum, Qi Shangtang Xin’an Medicine Museum, Fengsu Auto Stunt Museum (under construction), and Qikai Outdoor Sports City (under construction).

The Huangshan Cultural and Creative Town district is situated in the core area of the town and consists of thirty-nine sets of new-style Huizhou architecture. The architectural style is innovative and unique, retaining the traditional Huizhou features of white walls and black tiles while incorporating elements of modern architecture to create a distinctive streetscape. With Pingding Mountain to the southwest and the meandering Zhan Chuan River flowing nearby, along with the subtle fragrance drifting from the zigzagging lotus pond, the buildings stand in harmonious disorder. Suitable for both office and commercial use, the district stands out among the many streetscapes in Huangshan City. The district covers a construction area of nearly 50,000 square meters and gathers a variety of businesses including museum complexes, various cultural and creative enterprises, wellness centers, bars, coffee shops, private dining establishments, and craft workshops.
