The Lingshan Grand Canyon Scenic Area is located in Guangde County, Anhui Province, at the convergence of the Huangshan and Tianmu mountain ranges. The scenic area consists of five major tourism zones: the Lingshan Canyon Exploration Zone, the Lingshan Temple Buddhist Culture Zone, the Childhood Sweetheart Leisure Zone, the Wei Village Folk Experience Zone, and the Bamboo Sea Water City Resort Zone.

The Lingshan Grand Canyon boasts long, secluded streams, competing peaks, cascading waterfalls, and a scattering of uniquely shaped rocks. It features 72 scenic spots including the Cloud Brocade Waterfall, Colorful Cloud Stream, Triple Waterfall, Echoing Water Pool, and the Sacred Turtle Carrying Scriptures. There is also the thousand-year-old Lingshan Temple, which rivals the famous Lingyin Temple and is regarded as a sacred Buddhist site. Originally built during the Sui and Tang dynasties, it was a place where the reincarnation of the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, Prince Kim Qiaoque, and the Buddha Dharma Master Daohui Zonggao practiced meditation. To this day, it remains a bustling place of worship.

The Lingshan scenic area is picturesque, combining mountains, water, rocks, waterfalls, temples, forests, and caves. Since ancient times, it has been favored by literati and travel enthusiasts. It was once celebrated as having “the finest springs and rocks in the region.” During the Song Dynasty, the statesman and literary figure Fan Zhongyan visited and praised it with the words: “In the south there is Lingshan, in the north there is the Great Cave (Taiji Cave).”

The scenic area is divided into five main sections: the Peach Blossom Creek Rafting Zone, the Lingshan Temple Buddhist Culture Zone, the Canyon Exploration Zone, the Wei Village Folk Culture Zone, and the Farming Leisure Zone.

1. Peach Blossom Creek Rafting Zone

Utilizing part of the canyon’s stream, a two-person rafting course has been established along a 1,000-meter route. Through the organization and improvement of the waterways and surrounding natural landscapes, the area supports couple rafting, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the pleasures of nature.

2. Lingshan Temple Buddhist Culture Zone

The Lingshan Chan Temple and Chongfa Temple have been renovated to promote Buddhist culture. In the fourth year of the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty, it is said that the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, incarnated as Prince Kim Qiaoque of the Silla Kingdom, crossed the sea to China in pursuit of Buddhist teachings and once meditated here. Later, during the Zhenguan era, a temple was built and named “Guangrui Chan Monastery.” Since then, it has become a sacred Buddhist destination, producing many eminent monks. This is a holy site where pilgrims from all directions come to appreciate nature, worship Buddha, and cultivate their minds and bodies.

3. Canyon Exploration Zone

The entire scenic area features winding paths leading to serene spots, pavilions reflecting beautifully in the water, creating a delightful harmony that allows visitors to fully experience the wonders of nature, relax their minds, and enhance their desire to linger.

4. Wei Village Folk Culture Zone

Step back into the ancient village and revisit historical times. The weathered old walls and paths quietly tell stories of the past, while the sunny afternoons leave behind your peaceful silhouette.

5. Farming Leisure Zone

As flowers bloom and fade, and plums turn from green to yellow, come here to return to simplicity and experience the rural farming life. The area includes over 60 acres of ecological orchards such as the Green Plum Park, Bamboo Sea, and Chestnut Garden, mainly planted with chestnut trees, red-flesh peaches, strawberries, and grapes for visitors to sightsee and pick.
