Qiaotou Village Cishan Temple Opera Stage

The Qiaotou Village Cishan Temple Opera Stage is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Qiaotou Village Cishan Temple Opera Stage is located in Guangde County, Xuancheng City, and dates back to the Ming Dynasty.

Before the Taiping Rebellion, the Cishan Temple complex included temple buildings and viewing pavilions, which formed a unified structure with the stage. The current surviving building covers an area of 86.4 square meters. The stage floor is made of wooden planks, elevated 2.2 meters above the ground, with a proscenium width of 2.74 meters and a depth of 3.43 meters, covering an approximate area of 20 square meters. Its overall structure features a Ming-style raised-beam frame, with the gable walls supported by a through-tenon system. Parts of the floor and some beams have deteriorated, but the general architectural form remains intact.

In 2012, the Qiaotou Village Cishan Temple Opera Stage was designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit in the seventh batch announced by the People’s Government of Anhui Province.

Protected Area: Outside the courtyard wall, 2 meters east to the bamboo grove, 2 meters south to the pedestrian path, 2 meters west extending from the back wall of the stage, and 0.7 meters north extending from the north courtyard wall to the open space in front of Rui Benshun’s residence.

Construction Control Zone: Outside the protected area, 4 meters west to the asphalt road, 2 meters both south and north, and up to the mountain ridge to the east.
