Huang Gongwang Forest Park is a first-class scenic spot within the Fuchun River – Xin’an River – Qiandao Lake National Scenic Area, covering an area of 333 hectares with a forest coverage rate of 96.5%. It is home to 49 species of Class I and II nationally protected animals, including clouded leopards and antelopes. The park is named after the Yuan Dynasty landscape painter Huang Gongwang, who loved the landscapes along the Fuchun River in his later years, built a cottage for seclusion at Xiaojiquan in this area, and created the treasured national masterpiece “Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains.” The park features profound mountainous terrain, lush bamboo forests, and showcases subtropical forest landscapes, world-class bamboo gardens, historical and cultural sites related to Huang Gongwang, as well as ancient pagodas renowned through the ages.
