With a unique charm of time-worn beauty, the historical drama "Sulfur Here in the Mountains" was filmed at Fuyang Park

Taipei’s scenic Fuyang Nature Ecological Park in Da’an District is not only a beloved spot for locals to stroll and relax, but its distinctive aura of aged grandeur also attracted the production team of the historical documentary "Sulfur Here in the Mountains" to film on location. By bringing Fuyang Park to the big screen, the crew hopes to renew public interest in the area’s past history and deepen everyone’s connection with nature and the land.

Covering an area of 3.8 hectares, Fuyang Nature Ecological Park is Taipei’s first nature park focused on ecological conservation and education. Due to long-term military control that limited human interference, the park boasts rich foliage, the sounds of insects and birds, and preserves rare low-altitude forests and streams within the urban area. The park’s exceptional and unique landscape was selected as the filming location for this historical documentary because its appearance changes with the seasons and weather—offering playful light and shadow on sunny days and a hazy, ethereal beauty shrouded in mountain mist and rain, making it a sight that never tires the eye.

The production crew from Bronze Visual Arts mentioned that "Sulfur Here in the Mountains" is a meaningful documentary that depicts the history of Northern Taiwan from 400 years ago to the present. It tells the story of how Taipei residents grew alongside sulfur, later forgot about its existence, and then returned to the great river of sulfur once again. The choice to film at Fuyang Nature Ecological Park was due to the park’s unique blend of military relics and natural landscapes, which exude a particularly evocative sense of the passage of time and a distinctive historical charm.
