On March 23, the annual Spring Garden Tour at Hongyuan will officially kick off. As the saying goes, "Spring rain is as precious as oil," and spring scenery is equally priceless. Amidst the drizzling rain in Hangzhou, can you feel the stirrings of spring?
As one of the grand outdoor events of Xixi Wetland · Hongyuan every year, the Spring Garden Tour is not only a long-standing tradition that has become a custom among Hangzhou residents over the past decade, but more importantly, the diverse range of outdoor activities offers everyone an opportunity and platform to connect with nature and enjoy a better life. After a busy week of work, wouldn’t you want to gather your family or a few close friends to embrace the charm of spring? This year, the Spring Garden Tour at Hongyuan features a series of outdoor performances and experience activities, blending elements of natural wilderness, traditional culture, and trendy Chinese style, fully engaging all five senses and immersing your body and mind in every blade of grass and tree at Hongyuan.
At 10:00 AM on March 23, the launch ceremony of the "Spring Romance with Traditional Chinese Culture – Hongyuan in Full Bloom" spring event will officially begin at the Dinosaur Flat in Hongyuan. Hosted by Wang Shuai from Zhejiang Satellite TV, child stars from Chaotongxing will present a wonderful Hanfu fashion show talent performance. At the event, the list of 20 finalists for the "One of a Kind Youth" competition will also be announced on-site, with the top ten "Hongyuan Beautiful Youths" becoming the "Hongyuan Chinese Style Ambassadors." On April 7, during the Qingming Festival, the finals of "One of a Kind Youth" will take place. Hongyuan will invite teacher Zhang Min from Jianlan Middle School to host the event, and professional judges will score the contestants based on their performances. Friends with adorable kids are welcome to sign up online in advance. That day will also feature a fun experience party that blends trendy Chinese style with a collision of past and present. On-site activities will include paper-cutting, pitch-pot, woodblock printing, henna painting, Hanfu experiences, and live displays of Guo Feng clothing by Jinglian Mantang, kicking off a spring gathering of Chinese style trendsetters at Hongyuan.
In addition to the opening ceremony and Qingming Festival-themed activities, from March 24 to May 1, a "Treasure Hunt in Spring" competition will be held in the Hongyuan scenic area. Office workers who have been "cooped up" all day can pick up their phones, follow influencers to shoot short videos, upload them to Douyin with relevant hashtags, and search for the most mysterious spots in Hongyuan. The top 5 most popular videos from the hashtag will be selected, and the creators will be contacted privately to receive a beautiful gift.
On May 1, Hongyuan will collaborate with Hangzhou’s well-known travel agency Paper Airplane to provide children with an outdoor extension "classroom" for learning about Hongyuan culture through a public welfare junior guide program. Children will explore the Hongyuan Sinology route, learning while touring, with professional "teachers" instructing them on the cultural background of Hongyuan and how Chinese style is expressed there, becoming "living business cards" for Hongyuan and experiencing the charm of Sinology through play.
If life were always like the first meeting, why let the spring breeze brush the painted fan? This year’s Spring Garden Tour at Hongyuan also introduces a series of innovative activities, such as "Painted Fans at Hongyuan," "Flower Fields Express Love," and "Flowing Water Carries Melody." On the first weekend of the official launch of the Spring Garden Tour, March 23–24, we will hold the "Painted Fans at Hongyuan" event at Hongfu in Hongyuan, where a painter will create a painted fan for you on the spot. Only 40 folding fans and 60 round fans are available, so first come, first served until they run out. Additionally, on the weekends of April 20–21 and April 27–28, we will create a large-scale Pig Year-themed playground for Hongyuan – featuring a huge ball pit, dreamy slides, soft coral reefs, and other playful facilities all housed inside an inflatable piggy, bringing good fortune with the "treasure" pig.

Transportation Guide
Xixi Wetland · Hongyuan has two entrances: one is at Wujia Bay Entrance on Fangxi Road, Wuchang Subdistrict; the other is at Longshezui Entrance on Wuchang Avenue.
By Car:
1. Take Wener West Road to the Wuchang Entrance of the Ring Road, then drive south along Fangxi Road for 1 km to reach the Wujia Bay Entrance of Xixi Wetland; take Tianmushan Road to Wuchang Avenue to reach the Longshezui Entrance of Xixi Wetland.
2. From the southern part of the city, you can reach Xixi Wetland · Hongyuan via Wansongling Tunnel, Yuhuangshan Tunnel, Jiuyao Mountain Tunnel, Wulaofeng Tunnel, Jiqing Mountain Tunnel, and Lingxi Tunnel.
By Bus: Get off at “Xixi Wetland Longshezui” Station via the following buses: Bus 193 (Lishanqiao–Huanglong Bus Station), K356 (Yuhang–Gudang), Bus 506 (Yuhang Wulinmen North), Bus 596 (Fuyang Bus Station–West Bus Station), Holiday Bus 13 (Hongyuan–Huanglong Distribution Center; you may also get off at “Xixi Wetland Wujia Bay” Station), and Bus Rapid Transit B4 (Xiulinpu East Railway Station West).
The Huanglong Distribution Center also offers free direct buses to Xixi Wetland on weekends and holidays.
Ticket Discounts:
Visitors with a Yuhang District Citizen Card (starting with the letter C) can swipe their card directly at the entrance gate to enter.
Visitors with a Yuhang District Citizen Card (not starting with the letter C) need to go to the Wujia Bay Ticket Office, show their ID to activate the “Tourist Card” function, and then swipe to enter.
Visitors with a Hangzhou Citizen Card can purchase tickets at a discounted rate of 25 RMB per person for the Xixi Wetland · Hongyuan main gate.
Visitors with a Hangzhou Park Card (issued by Hangzhou Garden & Cultural Affairs Bureau) enjoy free admission to Xixi Wetland · Hongyuan.
Children under 1.2 meters (not including 1.2m) enter for free.
Children between 1.2–1.5 meters (inclusive) receive a 50% discount on admission.
Seniors: Those aged 60 (not including) to 70 (including) enjoy a 50% discount on the listed gate ticket price (valid ID required).
Those aged 70 and above enter for free.
