Former Residence of Zhu Zhi

The former residence of Zhu Zhi is a cultural heritage site protected by the Hangzhou Municipal Government.

The former residence of Zhu Zhi is located at No. 1 Yuanbao Road, next door to Hu Xueyan. It is now within a community office area.

Zhu Zhi was once an official from Hangzhou. Due to the collapse of the Qiantang River seawall and the deteriorating condition of the Liuhe Pagoda, he proposed to “voluntarily raise funds over the years to independently undertake the repairs,” for which Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty awarded him a plaque inscribed with “功资筑捍” in recognition of his efforts.

Protected Area: Extending east to the western red line of Jinchaidai Lane, south to the southern boundary of Yuanbao Street, west to the eastern boundary of Niuyangsi Lane (connected to the protected area of the Hu Xueyan Residence), and north to the southern red line of Wangjiang Road, covering a total area of 6,725 square meters.

Construction Control Zone: Extending east approximately 45–80 meters from the eastern edge of the protected area, south to the construction control zone south of the Hu Xueyan Residence, west to the protected area (connected to the construction control zone of the Hu Xueyan Residence), and north to the red line of Wangjiang Road, covering a total area of 8,052 square meters.
