Jinzu Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhenhai District.

Jinzu Bridge

Jinzu Bridge, located at the confluence of three waterways in Tianhu Village, Luotuo Subdistrict, Zhenhai District, Ningbo City, is said to have been built over a hundred years ago during the Qing Dynasty’s Qianlong era by a Hanlin scholar who returned to his hometown to pay homage to his ancestors. The bridge remains well-preserved. The two sides of the bridge piers are inscribed with two pairs of couplets, one reading: “West tombs and eastern literati long to honor ancestors; morning tides and evening currents flow to the Song Dynasty”; the other: “A long stream connects to the Filial Piety River; a nearby span overlooks the Literary Star.”

Jinzu Bridge runs from north to south, is a single-arch stone bridge with stepped access. It has a total length of 11.3 meters, a height of 4 meters (1 meter underwater, 3 meters above), a width of 2.8 meters, and a span of 2.5 meters. The bridge deck is flanked by 18 steps on each end, the arch ring is constructed with irregularly jointed stone slabs, and the sides are equipped with balusters and railings.

It was designated as a district-level cultural relic protection unit in December 2000.
