Stele Record of Yu Dayou’s Ancestral Temple

The Stele Record of Yu Dayou’s Ancestral Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Stele Record of Yu Dayou’s Ancestral Temple is located at the northeast foot of Ziyin Mountain, Zhao Bao Shan Subdistrict, Zhenhai District. According to the Republican-era Zhenhai County Annals, the stele was first carved and erected in the 38th year of the Jiajing reign (1559). It now consists of a pavilion and the stele. The pavilion is one bay wide, 1.4 meters deep, with bluestone slabs laid in staggered horizontal courses on the ground. The columns and column bases are made of cement, and the roof structure features a gable-and-hip rafter system, topped with a gable roof covered with cylindrical tiles. The eaves board and rafters are red, with white rendered brick and stone walls. Inside the pavilion, there are four stone stelae placed upright, each 2.3 meters high, 1 meter wide, and 0.18 meters thick. The upper corners of the stelae feature horn-like notches, and the inscriptions are carved in intaglio with black characters on a white background.
