Xiepu Du Shen Temple Stage

The Xiepu Du Shen Temple Stage is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhenhai District.

The Xiepu Du Shen Temple Stage is located about 500 meters west of Xiepu Town Street. Originally built in the late Ming Dynasty and expanded during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, it once featured structures such as the Central Army Hall, Front Hall, Stage, Viewing Gallery, Main Hall, Liufang Hall, and Corner Pavilion. Today, only the Stage and Viewing Gallery remain, which were renovated in the ninth year of the Republic of China (1920). In December 2000, it was designated as a district-level cultural relic protection unit.

The Stage of the Du Shen Temple covers a construction area of 25 square meters, faces south with its back to the north, and features cast iron pillars. It has a hip-and-gable roof and an exquisitely constructed caisson ceiling that is resplendent in gold and color, making it a truly rare artistic treasure. The Viewing Gallery consists of symmetrical two-story buildings on both sides, with a flush gable roof, covering a construction area of 480 square meters. The upper and lower levels are interconnected, and the upper floor is equipped with wooden railings and finely crafted small-patterned wooden paneling.
