Introduction: Located at No. 15 Tai’an Avenue, Heping District. The building features a brick-and-wood structure, divided into a front section and a rear section. There are large glass windows where the two sections connect. At the center of the roof ridge, there was originally a small domed pavilion with a gray helmet-shaped top. The interior is luxuriously decorated. Sun Chuanfang (1885–1935), courtesy name Xinyuan, was from Licheng, Shandong Province, and was one of the leading warlords of the Zhili clique during the Republic of China period. While studying in Japan, he joined the Tongmenghui (Revolutionary Alliance). In 1923, he was appointed Military Governor of Fujian. During the Jiangsu-Zhejiang War in 1924, he took the opportunity to expand his forces. In October 1925, he led troops to drive out the Fengtian clique’s influence in Jiangsu and Anhui. In November of that year, he declared the establishment of the United Army of Five Provinces—Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Jiangxi—in Nanjing, appointing himself as Commander-in-Chief of the United Army and also as Commander-in-Chief of Jiangsu, thereby becoming the most powerful warlord of the Zhili clique. In 1926, he lost most of his elite troops while trying to block the Northern Expedition forces from advancing eastward. He subsequently sought refuge under Zhang Zuolin and later Zhang Xueliang, and was eventually assassinated in Tianjin by Shi Jianqiao.
