Wulongtan Scenic Area

Wulongtan Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Wulongtan Scenic Area is located in Longguan Township, Yinzhou District, in the northwest of Ningbo City, approximately 35 km from downtown Ningbo, covering an area of 16.17 square kilometers.

Wulongtan Scenic Area is a mountainous tourist destination characterized by spectacular mountains, beautiful waters, serene valleys, and rich rural charm. It integrates sightseeing, leisure vacationing, Buddhist pilgrimage, and mountain fitness activities, meeting visitors' desires to immerse themselves in natural landscapes, appreciate mountain village scenery, experience local culture of eastern Zhejiang, and enjoy a relaxing getaway. The area boasts a strong traditional Chinese “dragon worship” folk culture and has established a brand image centered around dragon heritage rituals.

The development plan for Wulongtan Scenic Area includes four functional zones: the Tianjing’ao Folk Culture Expo Zone, the Longtan Waterfall Mountain Scenic Zone, the Guanding Lake Leisure Resort Zone, and the Longding Plateau Retreat Zone.

The first phase developed is the Longtan Waterfall Mountain Scenic Zone, which primarily features the Five Pools and Twelve Waterfalls of Wulongtan, as well as attractions like the Five Dragons Shrine and the Ancient Dragon Worship Altar. Supporting facilities include entrance areas, inner and outer plazas, pavilions, commercial buildings, hiking trails, and infrastructure such as water, electricity, and roads. The initial development investment reached 18 million yuan, and the zone operates as a closed, ticketed attraction. Currently, the scenic area continues to improve its supporting services and enrich its attractions, having successively constructed mountain roads within the park, suitable cement roads for access, and shuttle bus services between the scenic area and Longguan. Facilities also include the Wulongtan Grand Hotel with 200 dining seats, and plans are underway for a resort villa with 50 guest rooms. In addition to enjoying the beautiful mountain-water scenery and immersive dragon culture, visitors can also take part in activities such as drifting along the Zhangxi River, camping and barbecuing, rock climbing, and fishing.
