Former Site of Ningbo Federation of Trade Unions
The Former Site of Ningbo Federation of Trade Unions is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.
Located on Yanwu Street, Jiangdong District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, this is the memorial hall of the Ningbo Federation of Trade Unions during the Great Revolution era and the original site of the federation at that time. In the summer of 1926, the Ningbo Workers’ Federation of Trade Unions was established. Under the leadership of the 0 Ningbo Local Committee, the federation carried out indomitable legal struggles against the reactionary forces. In March 1927, - the reactionary forces set fire to the workers' federation headquarters located at No. 30 Qianyuan Lane. The federation was forced to relocate to No. 2 Yanwu Lane in Jiangdong. After Chiang Kai-shek launched the "4.12" - coup, he brutally suppressed the Ningbo workers' movement, leading to the closure of the federation, and leaders of the workers' movement such as Yang Meishan were tragically executed.
After renovation, it has been renamed the Ningbo Workers' Movement Memorial Hall. The second floor houses the “Exhibition of Historical Relics of the Ningbo Workers' Movement” and is open to the public.
The Former Site of Ningbo Federation of Trade Unions was the office and activity place of the Ningbo Federation of Trade Unions during the Great Revolution era. It symbolizes the glorious tradition of the Ningbo working class in conducting indomitable struggles against the reactionary forces and their fearless, heroic spirit of facing death. It has had a profound impact on the modern history of Ningbo.
