Ningbo Botanical Garden

Ningbo Botanical Garden will be built in the southern part of the Dongqian Lake Tourist Resort, covering a total area of approximately 5.15 square kilometers. Themed around health and featuring lakeside mountain-water landscapes, the garden is a new-concept botanical park integrating functions such as sightseeing, recreation, leisure, vacation, and learning.

Ningbo Botanical Garden is divided into six major scenic areas: the Botanical Landscape Science Park, covering an area of 167.58 hectares, focuses on showcasing the rich diversity of plant species, the beauty and uniqueness of landscapes, and combines horticultural displays with natural science education. The Plant Amusement Park, covering 157.70 hectares, features various amusement activities themed around plants and related to forest mountain environments. The Forest Wellness Park, covering 80.92 hectares, provides activities set within natural forests aimed at "cleansing the lungs and refreshing the mind" as well as promoting mental relaxation. The Botanical Landscape Resort, spanning 26.35 hectares, is a resort primarily focused on enjoying the botanical landscape of the garden. The Four Seasons Flower Sea Resort, covering 65.16 hectares, offers views of blooming flowers and mountain wilderness landscapes. The Commerce and Service Area, with an area of 17.55 hectares, is a service center integrating dining, accommodation, shopping, and tourism, developed through the renovation of Hengjie Village.

The future Ningbo Botanical Garden will feature “six superlatives”: the World’s Largest Botanical Maze; China’s Largest Tree Sculpture Garden; China’s Largest Hundred Forest Streams; East China’s Largest Cherry Blossom Valley; East China’s Longest Floral Corridor; and East Zhejiang’s Largest Underwater Forest.

Future visitor activities in Ningbo Botanical Garden will focus on wellness and recreational entertainment, aligned with the seasonal changes of plants. Within the relevant functional zones of the garden, four major festivals will be held in sync with the seasons: the Fragrant Spring Flower Courtyard Festival, the Summer Forest Music Carnival, the Autumn Floral Fairy Beauty Festival, and the Winter East Sea Wellness and Longevity Festival. The garden will provide an eco-friendly, natural venue for people to admire national and municipal trees and flowers, underwater forests, and participate in garden activities, cliff and stream rappelling, grass sliding, water play, forest music, forest adventures, as well as three themed experiences: the Longevity Floral Fairy Beauty Banquet, the Eco Tao for Prolonged Life, the Natural Fitness Four-Season Exercises, and the Joyful Forest Bathing.

Dongqian Lake Town: Dongqian Lake Town is located in the southeastern suburbs of Ningbo, embraced by undulating, continuous green mountains. It enjoys a superior location and convenient transportation. Situated in the economically fast-developing, densely populated, and well-connected Yangtze River Delta region, it serves as a central hub in the East Zhejiang tourism network. It is just a 10-minute drive to downtown Ningbo and Yinzhou Airport, and only 10 minutes to access the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway and Tong San Expressway.
