The Shaoxing Qianwang Shrine was first built in the tenth year of the Xining era during the Northern Song Dynasty (1077 AD) to commemorate the achievements of Qian Wang of the Wuyue Kingdom. After enduring over 900 years of vicissitudes, only the eight-character wall remains from the original structure. The newly reconstructed shrine restores the main halls of the ancient temple and displays historical relics related to the Qian family. It also employs high-tech methods using sound, light, and electricity to recreate historical scenes such as "Qian Wang Building the Seawall," blending modern technology with classical art. An ancient theater stage has also been constructed within the old shrine, where performances of "Qian? Ji" and various Kunqu, Peking, and Yue operas are held, adding to the rich local traditional ambiance. Location: No. 1 Qianwang Shrine Road, Lakeside Park Liulangwenying, West Lake, Hangzhou. Accessible by bus routes You 9, K4, K30, 30, K12, and 12.
