Shaoxing Yue Kingdom Culture Museum
The Shaoxing Yue Kingdom Culture Museum is a cultural tourism attraction.
The Shaoxing Yue Kingdom Culture Museum is located at the intersection of Lu Xun Road and Zhongxing Road, adjacent to Shen Garden to the east and the Former Residence of Lu Xun to the west. It is a cultural gem in the city center and also the largest private museum in China and abroad in terms of scale, variety, and quality of Yue culture relics.
The exhibition area spans 3,800 square meters and is divided into four major series: Yue kiln celadon, Kuaiji bronze mirrors, ancient Yue weapons, and gold, silver, jade, and stone artifacts. The Yue kiln celadon collection features representative works from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty, all of exceptional craftsmanship. Among them, genuine pieces of the famed secret-color tribute porcelain are renowned national treasures. The Kuaiji bronze mirrors are world-renowned for their exquisite artistry and ingenious craftsmanship. The ancient Yue weapons, unique relics of the ancient Yue people, have captivated the world and are considered treasures among Chinese weaponry.
The fourth floor houses the “National Treasures Hall,” a key exhibition area of the museum, displaying precious items once owned by King Goujian, the founding emperor of the Yue Kingdom, and the King of Wu. Exhibits such as the “Sword of the King” and the “Tang Dynasty Yue Kiln Celadon Terracotta Army” are unique both in China and abroad, with each piece being a true national treasure.
