Wanwei Mountain Scenic Area is located in the central-southern part of the Kuaiji Mountain Tourist Resort in Shaoxing City. To its southeast lies Baihe Mountain, to its southwest is Xianglu Peak, to its north is Shifan Mountain, and to its east is the Ruoye Stream. The highest point is the main peak of Chaomengtang at an elevation of 278.7 meters, while the lowest is the farmland east of the Ruoye Stream at 5.4 meters above sea level. The scenic area features over twenty cultural relics and natural landscapes, including the Yu Cave, Yangming Dongtian, Longrui Palace, Emperor Yu’s Boots, Shifan Mountain, Tiebi Residence, ancient Qing tombs, and Immortal’s Mouth.

The most beautiful time to visit Wanwei Mountain is during the cherry blossom season. From mid-March to mid-April each year, over 4,000 cherry blossom trees covering more than 150 acres bloom at the foot of the mountain. The hillsides are adorned with vibrant pink blossoms, and the annual Cherry Blossom Festival adds even more charm and liveliness to the area.

Entering the scenic area and walking into the cherry blossom woods, you’ll find the largest cherry blossom forest in East China. Strolling along the small paths and wooden bridges, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of blooming trees, you’ll be greeted by a gentle “shower” of light pink petals — an incredibly romantic sight. When you’re tired, you can take a rest in the teahouse, watch the Cherry Blossom Fairy performance, enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine, or go wild vegetable foraging and dining, immersing yourself in the romantic cherry blossoms of Shaoxing and experiencing the refined leisure of its people.

Special Tips

The cherry blossom season is very short, lasting only about 1-2 weeks from blooming to falling, so plan your visit accordingly.
