Guangning Bridge Straight Street

Guangning Bridge Straight Street runs from north to south. Though short, it is absolutely not ordinary, as it connects two national treasure-level Song Dynasty bridges in Shaoxing. At the southern end of the street is the famous Bagua Bridge, and in the middle lies Guangning Bridge. To some extent, Guangning Bridge is part of the street itself. The old street stretches from Shengli East Road heading south, crossing Guangning Bridge to reach Bagua Bridge. The straight street features old houses, ancient stone-paved roads, historic bridges, and the traditional life of Shaoxing.

Walking southward from Bagua Bridge and passing by Xie Gong Bridge, you’ll arrive at Guangning Bridge. Houses line the river tightly together, and the families along the bank gradually wake up, completely unfazed by the curious gazes of passersby. They go about their day as always — this serene and peaceful life offers us a glimpse of the most ordinary and genuine morning of the riverside residents.
