Shaoxing Longhua Temple
Shaoxing Longhua Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.
Longhua Temple is situated inside Dusimen in downtown Shaoxing. Commonly known as Longwangtang, it was built in the 24th year of the Yuanjia era (447) during the Liu Song Dynasty by Jiang Yi, the Minister of Personnel. Jiang Yi was from Kaocheng, Jiyang (present-day Minquan, Henan). Jiang Yi’s father, Jiang Biao, served as the Internal Secretary of Kuaiji during the Yonghe era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and the site of Longhua Temple was originally his residence. Jiang Yi’s sixth-generation descendant, Jiang Zong, was the Minister over the Masses of the Chen Dynasty during the Southern Dynasties (commonly referred to as Minister Jiang), a literary figure who sought refuge at Longhua Temple in Kuaiji during the upheaval of the Liang Dynasty's Taiqing era (547–549).
