Shaoxing Celebrities Square

Shaoxing Celebrities Square is located south of the Second Ring South Road, next to Tianjing Bridge (south of the intersection of Jiefang South Road and the Second Ring South Road). It is a park primarily featuring celebrity statues, established to commemorate notable figures from Shaoxing.

The square vividly reflects Shaoxing’s rich five-thousand-year cultural legacy and its tradition of producing eminent individuals. A notable feature is the “Group Sculpture of Celebrities,” which depicts 11 distinguished figures from the region’s history, including Yu the Great, King Goujian, Ma Zhen, Wang Xizhi, Lu You, Xu Wei, Qiu Jin, Lu Xun, Cai Yuanpei, Zhu Kezhen, and Zhou Enlai. Each figure is uniquely crafted, full of life and expressive, truly bringing them to life in a way that inspires both familiarity and deep respect.
