The Textile Guild Hall
The Textile Guild Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.
The Textile Guild Hall, located on Beihou Street north of Jiefang Road in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province, was jointly funded and built by local textile merchants in the third year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1877).
The hall faces south with its back to the north, featuring four sections on both the east and west sides. The first section on the west side is the entrance hall, spanning five bays wide, with the middle and side bays featuring rolled shed eaves in the front bay area, and the rear bay area having a continuous corridor across all five bays; it uses a post-and-lintel construction with a single-eave flush gable roof. The second section is a two-story building, spanning seven bays wide, with a boat-shaped shed eaves corridor under the lower eaves; the central bay has a five-rafter raised-beam structure, while the others use a post-and-lintel system; it features double eaves in the front and rear and a flush gable roof. The third section has a corridor and rooms laid out in a "?" shape, with the building extending 10 bays in length and 5 bays in width, all being ordinary single-story structures with post-and-lintel construction and flush gable roofs. The fourth section has been renovated. The second section on the east side is identical to the corresponding structure on the west, and the third section on the east has an alcove in the northwest corner. Other parts have either been demolished or remodeled, and the original appearance no longer exists.
It is a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit of Shaoxing.
