Shaoxing Fushan Scenic Area
Shaoxing Fushan Scenic Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.
Guide: Wolong Mountain, also known as Fushan Park, is located slightly west of downtown Shaoxing. It stands in a triad with Jishan and Tashan within the city. With few visitors, it offers a tranquil environment and is well worth a visit. In front of the main peak stands an ancient stone-pillared pavilion called Wanghai Pavilion, which was first built during the Tang Dynasty. Beneath the pavilion lies the tomb of Wen Zhong, a minister of the Yue State during the Spring and Autumn Period, as well as cliff inscriptions from the Tang and Song dynasties.
On the southwestern peak stands Fengyu Pavilion, built in 1930 to commemorate Qiu Jin, a modern democratic revolutionary martyr. At the southeastern foot of the mountain is Yuewang Terrace, which is tens of meters high and was constructed during the Jiading era of the Southern Song Dynasty. The southern slope of the mountain also features a cemetery and memorial monument for martyrs of the Liberation War.
Tip: The main gate faces Fuheng Street, a simulated ancient commercial street called “Yuedu Shopping Mall,” which mainly offers clothing but also has snacks and photo printing services. Exiting through the side gate leads to the back entrance of the five-star tourism hotel Shaoxing Hotel. Next to the Shaoxing Hotel is the Luxun Folk Custom Park Entertainment Center.
Transportation: Take bus No. 7 from the train station to the municipal government stop, then walk to the site. Taking a rickshaw is more convenient and not expensive.
