Functionality and Fashion
Theme Description: The fusion of outdoor elements and fashion
Competition Requirements
1. Entries should be original works that align with the competition theme “Outdoor and Fashion.” Each participant must design a self-defined mini-series of five outfits. The designs should be market-relevant, embody fashion, feature innovative design, and can be expressed through any technique.
2. Participants are required to create a series of colored renderings and flat technical drawings sized 27CM × 40CM. The rendering must include the work’s title in the upper right corner and a fabric swatch (8CM × 8CM) in the lower right corner, along with a design description of no less than 200 words. If shortlisted, participants must produce five physical garments for the final static display.
3. Additionally, on a 27CM × 40CM sheet, include your name and affiliated organization. No personal information may appear on the entry pages.
4. All submitted materials will not be returned. Please keep your own copies. During the competition, the organizing committee reserves the right to use the submitted works and finished garments for promotional, publishing, and performance purposes.
5. The organizing committee does not accept electronic documents or CD submissions. All materials must be submitted in physical form, either as text or images.
6. Entries must be original, unpublished works created solely by the participant.
7. Personal information and documentation submitted by participants must be truthful and valid. Providing false information or documents will result in disqualification from the competition or revocation of any awards, and may be reported to relevant authorities.
8. Each entry may be completed independently by one designer or as a collaborative work.
9. Participants must strictly adhere to the competition rules and comply with the schedule.
10. The organizing committee holds the final right of interpretation regarding all matters related to this competition.
How to Enter
Search the public WeChat platform: YA'S-TEX Brand, or scan the QR code to follow and register.
1. Participants must submit a complete set of entry materials (renderings, flat technical drawings, design descriptions, and fabric swatches).
2. Participants must mail all entry materials, a copy of their ID card, and two 2-inch ID photos to the competition organizing committee before the submission deadline of April 30, 2015. The ID copy, other document copies, and one 2-inch photo should be bound together with the entry form and must not be attached to the renderings.
3. For non-local finalists, the organizing committee will cover accommodation and meal expenses in Shanghai during the finals, as well as booth setup costs. Travel expenses to and from Shanghai are the responsibility of the participants.
Design Requirements
1. Strive to present and express a clothing concept that integrates functionality, practicality, fashion, and artistry.
2. Each individual entry must consist of a series of four or more outfits.
3. Designs should be complete, well-crafted, and accessorized harmoniously.
4. Possess a distinct sense of the times and cultural characteristics.
