The Convergence of Three
The Convergence of Three is located in the Mirror Water Bay scenic area of Keyan. There is a cultural square there that is square on the outside and round on the inside, symbolizing the traditional Chinese concept of a round heaven and a square earth. At the center of the square stands a stone-carved head sculpture — white on the front and black on the back. The white represents the belief that human nature is inherently good, while the black symbolizes the belief that human nature is inherently evil. Three 6-meter-tall marble statues are carved respectively as Confucius, Laozi, and Sakyamuni, representing the convergence of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. Nearby, various forms of water flow emerge through jets, cascades, trickles, and drips, then meander through a winding stream toward the “Source Pool.” This place is called “The Convergence of Three,” embodying the long-standing essence of traditional Chinese culture centered around humanity.
