The Site of the Former Shanqing School is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.

Shanqing Primary School was located in Lianyi Village, Zhoushan, Keqiao Town, Shaoxing County, and was built in March 1918 (the seventh year of the Republic of China). It was funded by Mr. Wu Shanqing, a prominent Shaoxing businessman based in Shanghai at the time, who donated 100,000 silver dollars. In 1956, it became a public school and was renamed Zhoushan Township Central School, then reverted to its original name in 1983.
Shanqing Primary School combines traditional Chinese architectural styles with Western influences, making it a veritable garden-style campus.
Keqiao Subdistrict: “Layered peaks and winding waters stretch far, spring breezes on ten-mile rides bring painted oars. Willow-lined embankments echo with flute and drum, misty bridges glow in the setting sun.” These are ancient verses praising the beautiful scenery of Keqiao. Today, as a modern subdistrict, Keqiao is radiating an unprecedented charm.
