Maoyang Bridge
Maoyang Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Keqiao District.
Maoyang Bridge is an east-west oriented single-span semicircular stone arch bridge. It has a total length of 21.34 meters, with the bridge deck measuring 3.34 meters in length and 3.58 meters in width. The bridge features 18 stone steps along its length, spanning 9.8 meters; on the western side of the bridge, there are 14 stone steps stretching 8.2 meters. The bridge stands 3.25 meters high, with an arch height of 2.75 meters and a span of 4.6 meters. The arch ring is constructed using the longitudinal joint separate-course masonry technique. The arch stones are inscribed with the names of donors from places such as Maoyang, Pingshui, and Dongguomen. A towpath is located at the southern side of the arch foot. On the southern arch shoulder, there are four long tie stones, the tops of which are exquisitely carved with patterns. There are two partition walls, each inscribed with a couplet: “Jishan Mountain stands tall, embracing evergreen hues; Jian River flows in loops, shimmering with silver waves” and “What dragon lies dormant beneath Maoyang Bridge to fear crossing? Like flocks of birds, travelers pass—who would bother with wet robes?” Beside the western abutment of the bridge stands a stone pavilion of approximately 8 square meters. Inside the pavilion is a stone stele erected in the 52nd year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, commemorating the reconstruction of Maoyang Bridge. On December 31, 2006, it was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit.
